Sandy Bell's is not just a bar; it's a social hub where laughter and melodies intertwine. Reviews from patrons like Kiara Arbullo highlight the warm and attentive service, particularly by the bartenders who are eager to share their knowledge about the extensive drink menu. From iconic rums such as Sailor Jerry and Gosling's Black Sea to a fine selection of Japanese whiskies like Nikka White and The Chita, there's something for everyone. And if you're in the mood for a local brew, you won't be disappointed with the selection of ales that keep the tables bustling.

For those who appreciate value, Mat D's enthusiastic recommendation is certainly not to be missed. For just a tenner, enjoy a pint of Best and a dram of the malt of the month, all while soaking in the vibrant atmosphere. The buzz of conversation combined with the soft strumming of a guitar truly encapsulates what Sandy Bell's is all about.
Even with minor disappointments like Alan Baloo’s encounter with unexpected jazz music instead of folk, it’s clear that the essence of Sandy Bell's lies in its unpredictability and charm. Whether you're stopping by for a quick drink or planning to stay for the night, prepare for a warm welcome that will make you feel right at home.
In summary, Sandy Bell's is not just a pub—it's a delightful experience that nourishes both the body and soul with its remarkable drink selection and captivating live performances. So gather your friends, raise a glass, and immerse yourself in the spirited heart of Edinburgh!

Authentic Scottish experience with amazing live music from local bands. The bartenders are lovely and give great recommendations for whisky and beers. We had a marvelous time singing and dancing there

If you like a lot of personal space, this pub probably isn't for you. If you are happy to forego that in favourite of an electric and friendly atmosphere, then Sandy Bell's is a perfect choice. This relatively small bar is overflowing with character. It has a great musical theme to it and the traditional music which is play live regularly here is always top tier. The service is always provided in a friendly fashion, and despite how busy it can be, the staff always do a great job of getting everyone served quickly.

The best address in Edinburgh's centre if you have a spare tenner, it will get you a pint of Best and a dram of malt of the month. And you'll even have a quid left for the tip!

Fantastic pub. Live acoustic music that is just someone singing with a guitar or piano. Really fun vibe. Drinks only, no food. They have normal pub snacks.

Brilliant pub. God selection of ales and very good prices. I was looking forward to the folk session, but sadly, it was some sort of jazz music instead. Ah well. You can't have everything

One of the best places to listen to Scottish folk music! It was wonderful to see how the passion of musicians—many of whom don’t even know each other—brings them together to do what they love. The bar doesn’t serve food, so I recommend eating beforehand. It’s also best to arrive early to get good seats and enjoy the music comfortably.

For those who will respect locals and their pubs only Dont come to this place to play on your phone. Get drinks in, get talking, and listen to some Scottish traditional music

Great place, staff brilliant, sessions brilliant, great mix of local and tourists. Highly recommend
